Main duties of the job

The post is responsible for providing skilled nursing care within a multidisciplinary environment, to ensure individualised and effective care is practiced. The successful candidate will act as a resource within the speciality of Orthopaedics, empowering junior staff to develop the highest possible level of clinical skills and facilitates communication within all care groups, whilst utilising the wards resources to promote excellence in practice.

 

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse (General) with good communication skills with the ability to assist with change and the drive to improve and develop clinical practice. The successful candidate will also be motivated, confident individual who also shows initiative, is a team player and who is flexible and reliable to meet the demands of the service and able to demonstrate consistently high standards of work.

Under the direction of the Ward/ department manager the post holder is responsible for providing skilled high quality nursing care within a multidisciplinary environment, to ensure individualised and effective care is practiced.

 

Contribute to the continuity of good team spirit and high standards of nursing care. Empowering junior staff to develop the highest possible level of clinical skills and facilitates communication within all care groups

 

Please note that the hospital is only able to support applicants who have passed their NMC OSCE.

 

Person Specification

  • Must have NMC registration.

Essential

  • Experienced registered NMC nurse.

Qualifications

  • Essential: RGN; ability to adapt to changing pressures of work; motivated; innovating & supportive; able to work on own initiative and under pressure;
  • Desirable: ENB 998, ENB 219 Assessors qualification; Evidence of continued Learning; NVQ Assessor Experience; Experience in taking charge of a team/ unit; teaching skills; demonstrable teaching skills; basic computer skills; evidence of ongoing professional development;
