PlaceMe UK's modern slavery and human trafficking statement

Place Medical UK LTD (PlaceMe UK) condemn all forms of slavery and human trafficking and ensure that it is not present in our organisation. We also do not work with organisations that we know to be engaging in such a deplorable practice.

What is modern slavery?

Modern slavery is defined as the recruitment, movement, harbouring or receiving of children, women or men through the use of force, coercion, abuse of vulnerability, deception or other means for the purpose of exploitation. Estimates of the number of enslaved people today range from around 38 million to 49.6 million, depending on the method used to form the estimate and the definition of slavery being used.

Information about our organisation and supply chains

Place Medical UK LTD is a private company limited by shares and incorporated in England and Wales. We provide recruitment services to both NHS and private hospitals, multi-national clinics, global pharmaceutical organisations and care home groups. Any external suppliers are UK based and in low risk sectors.

The parts of our business and supply chains where risks of modern slavery are highest

PlaceMe UK is in the people business, so the risks of modern slavery are present when we provide applicants to organisations. We interview every applicant for our roles and assess for competence and desire. We would signpost any individual that we suspected to be at risk of harm to organisations that can provide them with help.

Training and capacity building of staff around modern slavery

Employees of this business are professionals and our HR team and people policies ensure equitable treatment of our staff around the world. We provide regular training and capacity building to our staff on the subject of modern slavery and we have policies to reduce these risks.

Policies relating to modern slavery

PlaceMe UK has a zero-tolerance position on violations of anti-modern slavery or anti human trafficking laws. We seek to treat people equitably and to participate in a business environment that is fair to its people. These values guide what we do and, as such, we will also sever ties with any companies that we find to be breaching these laws.

Key performance indicators our business uses to measure progress in tackling modern slavery

We monitor and document all instances of problematic behaviour found will help any of our partners or suppliers to take remedial action.
