PlaceMe UK's modern slavery and human trafficking statement
Place Medical UK LTD (PlaceMe UK) condemn all forms of slavery and human trafficking and ensure that it is not present in our organisation. We also do not work with organisations that we know to be engaging in such a deplorable practice.
What is modern slavery?
Modern slavery is defined as the recruitment, movement, harbouring or receiving of children, women or men through the use of force, coercion, abuse of vulnerability, deception or other means for the purpose of exploitation. Estimates of the number of enslaved people today range from around 38 million to 49.6 million, depending on the method used to form the estimate and the definition of slavery being used. Modern Slavery can take many forms including: Domestic servitude, which is where a victim is forced to work in private households performing domestic chores and childcare duties. Their freedom may be restricted and they may sleep where they work and work long hours often for little or no pay; Forced labour, which is where victims may be forced to work long hours for little or no pay in poor conditions under verbal or physical threats of violence to them or their families or Other forms of exploitation like organ removal, forced begging, forced benefit fraud, forced marriage and illegal adoption.

We seek to treat people equitably and to participate in a business environment that is fair to its people. These values guide what we do and, as such, we will also sever ties with any companies that we find to be breaching these laws.
