Practice Manager - Mental Health and Wellness Team (East London)
Role Overview: Reporting to a Team Manager, you will oversee and professionally supervise a team of qualified and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, legally compliant social care practices. This includes undertaking comprehensive social care assessments and developing person-centered support plans that meet the needs and outcomes of individuals. You will manage a complex caseload, striving to maximize the independence and well-being of adults and older people within the Mental Health and Wellness Team.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and supervise a team, ensuring high-quality social care practices.

Conduct comprehensive social care assessments and develop person-centered support plans.

Manage a complex caseload, including safeguarding lead roles and investigating complaints.

Collaborate with internal and external partners and agencies to coordinate actions and support adults and older people.

Maintain good working relationships with other professionals while challenging decisions of other statutory agencies when necessary.

Act as a first-line manager, providing guidance and support to the team.

Utilize sensitivity, persuasiveness, negotiation, and assertiveness to communicate with diverse audiences in emotionally charged situations.

Build trust and confidence with service users and colleagues.

Contribute to the development and delivery of process and procedure improvements.
Essential Skills and Experience:

Significant post-qualifying social work experience in a Children & Families setting.

Experience managing highly complex casework within a statutory children’s setting.

Culturally sensitive service delivery experience within a multi-cultural community.

Proven ability in prioritization, care planning, and service delivery.

In-depth knowledge and experience in assessing complex risk factors.

Proficiency in interpreting, understanding, and making judgments on risk and protective factors to ensure the safety of children and young people.

High-level skills in gathering information from various sources, including direct observations.

Ability to develop practical, evidence-based plans with clear outcomes for children and young people.

Experience in systematically monitoring and reviewing decisions and plans.

Knowledge of different intervention methods and their effectiveness based on research evidence.

Demonstrable ability to manage complex cases and perform critical analysis.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Proficiency in ICT, including Microsoft applications.
