This collaborative initiative between Local Councils and Integrated Care Boards is in the Social Care remit.

On a daily basis, Social Care Assistants are responsible for:

Carrying out telephone assessments every day.

Understanding people’s problems and needs and seeing if they are eligible for equipment or further support from their local borough.

Ordering and providing equipment to people who have mobility needs.

Support and mentorship provided by supportive Team Managers.

The role also counts as field work for Social Work England who is a specialist regulator focused on enabling positive change in social work
